Comments: THE PIZZA PARLOR WAS IN PORT HUENEME - NOT OXNARD

----The Oxnard Journal last month that the Toppers Pizza Punch-a-rama happened in Oxnard since the incident was within three blocks of Oxnard Corporate Limits.

I goofed and Hyrum called me on it.

"People seldom refuse help, if one offers it in the right way."

  - A. C. Benson

"Something that has always puzzled me all my life is why, when I am in special need of help, the good deed is usually done by somebody on whom I have no claim."

  - William Feather, The Business of Life

"It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life, that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself."

Comments: Mr. Winter this is with respect to your story about the St. John's Hospital. I know that the developer met with the Wilson neighborhood and that Mr. Alan Wingo and Mr. Steve Buratti have stood before the City Council and given their approval for the project.

I think that it undermines your site to make statements that are not true. If the bond issue was not known before hand then state that the issue is the bonds. I do not think you are being accurate in saying that the neighborhood was never consulted because they were and the leaders of the neighborhood have already spoken in support of this. This is what can cause us problems with the City Council for our entire program.

The Angry Clergyman

A clergyman walking down a country lane and sees a young farmer struggling to load hay back onto a cart after it had fallen off. "You look hot, my son," said the cleric. "Why don't you rest a moment, and I'll give you a hand."

"No thanks," said the young man. "My father wouldn't like it."

"Don't be silly," the minister said. "Everyone is entitled to a break. Come and have a drink of water."

Again the young man protested that his father would be upset. Losing his patience, the clergyman said, "Your father must be a real tyrant. Tell me where I can find him, and I'll give him a piece of my mind!"

"Well," replied the young farmer, "he's under the load of hay."

Deep within a forest a little turtle began to climb a tree. After hours of effort he reached the top, jumped into the air waving his front legs and crashed to the ground. After recovering, he slowly climbed the tree again, jumped, and fell to the ground. The turtle tried again and again while a couple of birds sitting on a branch watched his sad efforts. Finally, the female bird turned to her mate. "Dear," she chirped, "I think it's time to tell him he's adopted

Comments: if you guys ran a piece on the boat that was towed off the beach at the edison plant his morning, i was there, and helped the guy hook it to the lobster boat and tow it away. it was quite the ordeal, took about 30 minutes or so, and the sailboat suffered from it.
