Old
Saint Johns goes into Status Quo

New File --- more of the same...
As if we were
ready for something new, more snags and snarls...
The renovation of the
Old Saints John Hospital is still aluding local residents as the the
hulk of the soon-to-be "Art Deco" carcass remains as it has
for the past 10 years (has it been that long?).
One change of note, is
the loss of Aztec Security in the back.
One note that has not changed is the crescendo of smashing of windows by wandering minstrel vandal punks (usually latch-key youngers who got tired of watching the cartoon channel).
Local residents of the
Wilson Neighborhood are just Ho-Hum over this.
¿What else is new?
Reports of the delay in renovations are attributed to drum-roll please: Lack of funds - which is worse than Lack of Nookie....and if they ran out of money, the Laka-knookie is sure to follow.
Also compounding the
problem was the non-percieved FULL EXPENSE of cost relative to the removal
of Asbestos.
How about work release felons to do the work of removing Asbestos from the haunted interiors of Old Saints John....masks and suits will be provided in addition to less time served for such agreed-upon 'hazardous duty'.
Nice but not a practical idea.
The Oxnard Journal will track this down and see where we really are with this conversion....heck another ten years won't be that bad, will it?
